CLASS RULES

SHOW RESPECT

MAKE GOOD DECISIONS

SOLVE THE PROBLEM

  1. Be RESPECTFUL at all times:
    • To your classmates and to your teacher (that would be me).  I answer to Mr Wolgemuth (that can be a mouthful for sure: wall-GUH-mooth) or Mr W.
    • Most definitely no cell phones or ipods
I DON'T LIKE CELL PHONES & IPODS IF I SEE THEM, I WILL TAKE THEM

If I see them on a second occasion, someone from home will have to come and pick them up for you.

This is a school policy and I rigorously enforce it.

  2. MAKE GOOD DECISIONS
  • You're in high school now and making a transition that will take you from middle school into being a young adult.  You should have a pretty good idea of what good decisions are.  If you have trouble with those, I will offer gentle reminders at first, and somewhat less gentle as time goes on.
  • This is a SCIENCE Class.
There are ALL KINDS of Nasty things in the science lab that don't go well with food or drinks. ACCORDINGLY, No Food or Drink is Allowed in the Science Class

The science lab can be a very fun and exciting place. However, we sometimes use items and chemicals that can be dangerous when not used correctly.  Accordingly, no playing around in the lab will be tolerated.

3.  SOLVE THE PROBLEM

  • The easiest way to solve a problem in middle school was to ask the teacher.  However, as I mentioned earlier, you are in HIGH SCHOOL now.

  • One of the very best skills to develop in high school is to learn how to solve problems.

  • Much of the work we do in class will be in small groups. I will constantly encourage you to seek answers and solutions by working in your group.  This can be a bit frustrating at first, but you will come to find that learning how to solve problems is much more rewarding then simply asking for an answer.

  • Many of us see science as a series of TRUTHS that we discover by reading text books or listening to your teacher.
